Umi Blue Xenia

Extremely unique species of xenia, so much so that I gave it a name to set it apart from other so-called blue xenia (usually a Cespitularia sp), this is a true xenia species in that the polyps form a crown on top of a stalk. They do not pulse but are extremely blue which is even more visible under natural daylight. This species is slower growing compared to the red sea xenia. Lastly I caught a cleaner shrimp eating this coral, so if there are cleaner shrimp in your tank keep a close eye on them.

Xenia elongata (sometimes referred to as red sea)

This species is one of the heartiest types of xenia. It has a very strong pulsing action and can spread quickly. This species also tends to stay close to the rocks growing about 1-1 1/2" tall
requirements: medium to strong light, and in my observations the flow doesn't seem to be too important. Currently I am farming two shades of this, one is bluish/grey (lower picture) and the other is fleshy pink. It is possible to get both types on one frag disk, if desired

Heliopora coerulea (blue ridge coral)

This coral  encrusts and forms columns. The skeleton of this coral is a deep blue.  Over the past 10 years or so I've seen this coral do well in most environments. I must say this is the most hearty of all corals. If you want to keep it blue with white polyps you must keep it in strong light otherwise the brown zooxanthellae density will increase giving it and the polyps brownish coloration.
